What if your clothes could regenerate themselves? Scientists are working on just that, using Mycelium Leather.

  • A mycelium is a network of fungal threads, and can form the root network of fungi, like mushrooms.

A recent report shared that after only two days, certain vegetative materials made from mycelium compounds can self-heal under the right conditions. Meng Zhang, one of the scientists working on the project, shared, “We believe that the material has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about wearable technology… It has the ability to heal itself and regenerate, providing endless possibilities for its use.” EcoWatch
