In The News | $27 billion “green bank” to support renewable energy transition in low-income neighbourhoods

The United States’ Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has announced $27 billion in grant funding. $20 billion USD is expected to be awarded to about 15 non-profits to use in collaboration with private capital investments for “projects that reduce pollution and lower energy costs for families, particularly those in the low-income and disadvantaged communities.”

Another $7 billion USD in grants will go to municipalities, states and Tribes for “variety of solar energy  projects that include community solar, solar power storage and upgrades, as well s rooftop solar for homes.” EcoWatch
